  When thinking about what you and your family or household might do in an emergency, keep the following in mind: 

  • you may be separated from each other
  • normal communications might be difficult or impossible
  • information may be limited
  • you may be without power or water
  • you or others may be injured
  • there may be fire or other dangerous elements present
  • you may need to evacuate or to shelter in place
